Description

Firestone Walker Parabola Amburana 2021 Imperial Stout 14.6% abv

Of all the beers in our Proprietor’s Vintage Series, Parabola is the most notorious. It is always a beast of a beer, with intense flavors of black cherry, dark chocolate and roasted coffee—yet each annual release also bears its own subtle imprint. For the first time ever, this year’s edition was aged for 12 months in an equal mix of bourbon, rye and wheat whiskey barrels, accentuating the beer’s signature richness and intensity with vintage-specific hints of black pepper and cereal grain.

The story of our first limited release began when we selected a special lot of Parabola that had aged for 12 months in premium eight-year-old bourbon barrels. Next, we racked this lot and circulated it through spirals of Brazilian Amburana wood, which is prized for its beautiful baking spice flavors.

“Amburana is one of the most exotic woods out there, and only a handful of people can get their hands on it,” Eric shares. “Amburana is native to Brazil and the exotic smell of spices that just radiates from the wood itself will blow you away.” Eric goes even further – “The first time I smelled Amburana, I knew I had to use it, and I knew it had to end up in Parabola.”

We are committed to providing you with an excellent service, which includes delivering your goods in way which will not affect your order adversely. Most beers we sell are bottle-conditioned and will contain some sediment. We therefore would like to advise you to use the following guidelines on receipt of your goods:

  • Please open the box carefully and the correct way up (address label will be on the top of the box)
  • Check for any damage or broken glass.
  • In the unlikely event of any broken glass we would recommend to leave the broken glass in the box and only extract those bottles that are undamaged. Then dispose of the box, including broken glass, safely in an appropriate manner.
  • Do not open any bottles shortly after delivery. They are likely to be very volatile and cause spillage.
  • We recommend to leave the beers to settle for at least 6 hours, preferably for 24 hours.

We pride ourselves in high customer service levels and we want to ensure that your goods will be delivered to you in good condition. Any instances of goods being delivered below expectations, such as broken bottles, should be reported immediately on arrival but within 7 days, upon which we will issue a refund for the damaged bottles. This does not affect your statutory rights.

For deliveries to the USA please note that due to severe restrictions by courier companies, the maximum amount of liquid that can be sent is 75cl per consignment. Glasses and other items have no restrictions but please be aware these are packaged very well to avoid breakages, so postage can be high. Please contact us for an accurate quotation, as the current rates on our website allows for a large box, regardless of weight.
