Description

Brugge Tripel 8.7%abv

The Bruges city beer of old, potent and bitter-sweet BRUGGE Tripel has a beautiful golden-blond colour and a firm, rocky head, leaving a trail of Bruges lace on the glass. The aroma has a typical touch of smoked phenolic, and the flavour is bitter, rich and creamy.

The secret of the BRUGGE Tripel city beer is the unique composition of the “gruut” blend of herbs and spices used to enrich its flavour and aroma. In Bruges, anyone brewing beer was obliged to purchase “gruut” from the city’s herbs and spices shop, known as the “Gruuthuse”. Jan van Brugge and his descendents, who later changed their name to Van Gruuthuse, had a monopoly on the sale of Bruges “gruut” that lasted late into the 16th century. At the same time, taxes were levied to the Count of Flanders.

We are committed to providing you with an excellent service, which includes delivering your goods in way which will not affect your order adversely. Most beers we sell are bottle-conditioned and will contain some sediment. We therefore would like to advise you to use the following guidelines on receipt of your goods:

  • Please open the box carefully and the correct way up (address label will be on the top of the box)
  • Check for any damage or broken glass.
  • In the unlikely event of any broken glass we would recommend to leave the broken glass in the box and only extract those bottles that are undamaged. Then dispose of the box, including broken glass, safely in an appropriate manner.
  • Do not open any bottles shortly after delivery. They are likely to be very volatile and cause spillage.
  • We recommend to leave the beers to settle for at least 6 hours, preferably for 24 hours.

We pride ourselves in high customer service levels and we want to ensure that your goods will be delivered to you in good condition. Any instances of goods being delivered below expectations, such as broken bottles, should be reported immediately on arrival but within 7 days, upon which we will issue a refund for the damaged bottles. This does not affect your statutory rights.

For deliveries to the USA please note that due to severe restrictions by courier companies, the maximum amount of liquid that can be sent is 75cl per consignment. Glasses and other items have no restrictions but please be aware these are packaged very well to avoid breakages, so postage can be high. Please contact us for an accurate quotation, as the current rates on our website allows for a large box, regardless of weight.
